1. Curriculum Acknowledgment & Participation

I, the undersigned, understand that the Freedom School curriculum is rooted in the history, culture, and sociopolitical activities of the African and African American Diaspora. I acknowledge that:

• Content: The materials covered may include rigorous discussions on historical struggles, civil rights, social justice, and the ongoing contributions of the Diaspora.

• Engagement: Activities may include community organizing exercises, field trips, guest speakers, and culturally immersive workshops.

• Goal: The program is designed to foster literacy, self-determination, and a deep understanding of heritage.

I hereby grant permission for the Participant to engage fully in all aspects of this curriculum and associated activities.

2. Media & Photo Release

I hereby grant the Freedom School and its legal representatives the irrevocable right and permission to use, reproduce, and publish photographs, video recordings, and/or audio recordings of the Participant.

• Usage: These materials may be used for educational purposes, promotional materials, social media, websites, and any other nonprofit mission-related communications.

• Ownership: I waive any right to inspect or approve the finished product and understand that no compensation (monetary or otherwise) will be provided for the use of these materials.

3. Release of Liability

I assume all risks and hazards incidental to participation in the Freedom School program. I hereby release, absolve, and agree to hold harmless the Freedom School, its organizers, sponsors, supervisors, and volunteers from any and all claims, demands, or liabilities arising out of or in connection with the Participant’s involvement in the program, including any injuries or damages sustained during activities or transport.

4. Emergency Medical Treatment

In the event of an emergency, I authorize Freedom School staff to seek medical treatment for the Participant if I cannot be reached. I understand that I am responsible for any expenses incurred for such treatment.
